Cebu City Hall Farmers’ Market

Today, as my husband and I were having coffee at the McDonald’s across City Hall, I thought of three things: (1) Cebu is dirty; (2) I love this city, and (2) I should go out more often. Across from where we were sitting, locals and tourists were taking snaps of themselves inside the Magellan’s Cross and farmers were setting up their display of greens and violets (in the case of eggplants and avocados). The Summer That Was, 2018

Each summer of my life has always been memorable. But not all summers have been happy. It was a summer when I lost a young love. It was summer when I lost both my grandfathers. But it was also a summer when I got married and it was a summer when our dear nephew was born. This summer, the summer of 2018, was made more memorable because of my trip to New York but frankly, summer to me has always been about doing new things, reading new authors, and making memories with my family.

Ode to New York

“So tell me, Psyche, how on earth did you manage to get yourself to this hotel from JFK?” my boss asked me over a glass of wine and cubes of cheese at the small courtyard at The Park Lane Hotel in Central Park. Hmmm.. “After immigration, I walked past the door that said ‘Exit,’ followed the sign to where the Airtrain was, and rode the train,” I replied. “You are an independent woman!” my boss exclaimed. I just followed what the guide book said. My boss and his wife had fits laughing.
