Where to Stay in Bacolod: The White Hotel

The first time we visited Bacolod City, we stayed at a hotel called Bascon Hotel. It was an old hotel, with dark wood panels, dark carpet, and a dark hallway. The “lobby” consisted of one wooden bench and a long horizontal wall mirror and was sparsely decorated. Circa 1900, Heritage and Food in Cebu

Sanjercasvil Road, which stands for Sanson, Jereza, Castillo and Villa, is a pocket road in Lahug, Cebu City. Joel, who lived in Apas, a neighbor barangay, used to come here to play and would always relate to me the corn fields in the area. Sanjercasvil Road is a heritage road based on the number of heritage houses dotting the area. This is where the famous Circa 1900 is located.

Casa Gorordo

Casa Gorordo is one of the most popular tourist must-sees in downtown Cebu City being the former residence of the first Cebuano bishop, Bishop Juan Garces Gorordo. The Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. now runs the museum, and has prohibited several popular activities in the premises, like pre-nuptial photoshoots and wedding venues. Taking pictures inside the house is, obviously, not prohibited, but flashes are not allowed.
